Tiny Church Tolvkanten

Nina Nørgaard has created the baptismal font and the liturgical vessels (chalice, paten, and pitcher) for the award-winning Tiny Church – Tolvkanten, located in Copenhagen’s North Harbour. Designed by architect Julius Nielsen as the world’s second "tiny church," the structure belongs to Hans Egede Parish. The sea, the sky, and the ice are the core elements of the design. Inspired by the church’s raw, unfinished construction and its windswept location by the water, Nina Nørgaard sought to capture the untamed spirit of the North. The work serves as a subtle reference to Greenland—a nod to the history of Hans Egede Church—and reflects the dramatic, shifting light of the harbor.
